Escudo: New Maruti Suzuki Car Launch This Diwali
The Maruti Suzuki Escudo is the new 5-seater, midsized petrol engine SUV, which, according to the sources, is set to launch around Diwali, with the price tag of Rs 9.75 to Rs 18 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Escudo – Price & Launch Date
Maruti Suzuki Escudo is expected to be launched in the festive season of Diwali this year. The base variant is going to be priced around ₹9.75 lakh and the top variant around ₹15.8 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki’s very own vast dealership network of 3000 outlets across 2500 Indian cities, ARENA, is preparing for this big launch.
With the launch of Escudo, Maruti Suzuki is targeting car buyers who love Maruti Brezza but want a more spacious car like Grand Vitara.
Maruti Suzuki Escudo – Engine & Fuel Variants
Maruti Escudo will be a mid-sized SUV. The size of the Escudo ranges between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara. The automaker is going to use the same engine as the Grand Vitara with both petrol and CNG options. That means it is not an EV.
Escudo’s petrol variant will be powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is expected to produce 101.65 hp and 136 Nm of torque. The CNG variant will produce a little less power of 86.79 hp and Nm of torque.
The base variant’s transmission type will be manual. There is no clarification by the company whether it will have automatic transmission or not.
Maruti Suzuki Escudo – Design & Features
The build quality of the Escudo will be based on the Suzuki Global C platform, which is designed especially for compact mid-sized cars to provide vehicle strength along with lightness.
It will provide Escudo safety, as it is capable of incorporating ESC and multiple airbags.
Maruti Suzuki is planning to make the Escudo lengthier than the Grand Vitara, which is about 14 feet. The 5-seater car will have more legroom in the second row and boot than the Vitara.
The dashboard of the Escudo is going to come with a large touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital driver’s display, and a wireless phone charger, which is standard these days for any 5-seater 10L+ vehicles.
